The United States is one of the world’s largest importers of fertilizers.

But the fertilizer industry needs to ramp up production and cut back on waste, the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization said Tuesday.

In fact, the food and agricultural sector needs to make 3.2 billion tons of fertilizer annually, the UN agency said.

So far, the United States has made just over 1.3 billion tons, or about 3 percent of global fertilizer production.

That’s a bit higher than the 1.1 billion tons the United Kingdom made last year.

“Our global population is growing, and we need more fertilizer,” said David Hahn, director-general of the U,N.

agency, in a news conference.

“But the global market is not growing fast enough to meet our needs.

We need to be more efficient in how we use fertilizers.”

The world’s fertilizer market is estimated to be worth $10 trillion.

But most of that fertilizer is used in food production.

About 40 percent of U.K. fertilizers are exported to other countries, mostly the European Union.

In addition, the European market is one the largest for fertilizer use globally, the agency said in its report.

“If the EU and the U in Europe did not do their share of the work to make fertilizers globally more environmentally sustainable, we would not be here today,” said Hahn.

The United Nations says that, by 2050, food demand in the developing world will outpace the global supply of food, driving up food prices in developing countries.

The UN agency is also working to promote better use of water in farming.

For instance, it’s recommending that fertilizers be made from bio-degradable materials.

But some fertilizers, like the ones used in lawn fertilizers and dias fertile windows, also can leach nutrients from the soil.

In the United Nations’ report, the report says the use of these fertilizers could contribute to a loss of global biodiversity.

The report recommends that the world take measures to ensure that fertilization and water use do not contribute to the loss of biodiversity, as well as to protecting and restoring natural ecosystems.

And it also recommends that countries invest in more sustainable uses of land and water.
